Things I like, things I do, things I do that I like

It’s one of those Saturday mornings where listening to Blondie leads me to reading archived LIFE magazine articles about Linda Ronstadt doing so much coke she had to have her nose cauterized twice in the early 70s and eventually stumbling upon this silent film from 1916, The Mystery of Leaping Fish.

Starring Douglas Fairbanks Sr, written by Anita Loos (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), DW Griffith (Birth of a Nation) and Tod Browning (Freaks) it’s a slapstick comedy about a drug addict detective named Coke Ennyday.

Mute the music and check it out.
